Garden Variety Wizards bring a lifetime of study and various materials and processes together to form something that transcends the materials themselves and inspires the collector to find opportunities for bringing imagination and the power of the creative spirit into their daily lives.
 
This Wizard is a handmade soft sculpture formed with felting needles from wool that was washed, dyed, and combed by hand. A wire armature wrapped in wool provides support and a sense of movement to arms and legs. Pointed shoes have been sculpted out of polymer clay and hand painted.  A hat, sewn from hand-woven fabric and felt is adorned with sparkling glass beads on the top of the brim. Sequins glimmer from beneath the brim and cast fleeting relections in the light as it morphs and moves throughout the day. Eyes of Lapis Lazuli and Czech crystal observe their surroundings, ready to sense possibilities for wondrous mischief. This Little Wizard stands 11 inches tall from the tip of the hat to the bottom of the shoes, which are initialed and numbered. 
 
Although inspired by the boundless imaginative power we often associate with young children, this sculpture is NOT A TOY and not meant to be handled or played with by children. 
 
The utmost care and attention to a safe journey will be given to packing this Wizard off to the collector and will be sent via USPS. Shipping costs are included in the price of the item.
